I love that you love Jann Arden. I know two people, besides me, who’ve even heard of her.

I’ve said it before and I’ll keep saying it because it feels like Truth - mothering (and fathering) have absolutely nothing to do with biology. The people responsible for my genetic make up are not my parents - parenting is all about love, and blood has nothing to do with it.

I’d hate to have someone say I’m not Babycakes’s grandfather, although any shared DNA probably goes back to the original primordial ooze. She’s mine and I’m hers.

P.S. I don’t dare say around Babycakes’s blood relatives that I’m not her “real” Poppy! They’d kick my butt!
