Buddha’s Hand Citron: Citrus medica var. sarcodactylus. This fruit has no pulp to speak of, but is an excellent source of “zest” for obvious reasons. I saw the tree of this citrus fruit in Leu Gardens, and, mirable dictu, saw a few of the fruits in an upscale grocery we buy some stuff from. I wouldn’t want to meet this guy in a dark alley, or in my nightmares.
Today was a banner day. The dog didn’t crap on the carpet (unless I just haven’t found it). I took him home for a while. The kids have a large fenced back yard (notice I didn’t say “backyard”), and he likes to romp there. Cheers him up.
If anyone with computer savvy reads this, here’s the deal: We have a cable modem and a Linksys router. The laptops work just dandy wirelessly. They work just fine plugged directly from the router by network cable. So far so good. The desktop, which has the best specs of all, is unhappy either hard-wired or wireless from the router. It is perfectly content if I take the router offline and plug the desktop directly into the cable modem. The symptoms are that the internet is slow, real slow, via the router. Can’t watch the little flash videos you all load on your blogs, can’t watch Youtube, can’t access some important pages (like at Microsoft and Adobe, for example). It’s weird, real weird. Any thoughts?
Happy night before Thanksgiving to all.
